"Community Empowerment" Launches a Challenge to Strengthen National Identity

The Ministry of Community Empowerment has launched the "Community Challenge" initiative, a series of social challenges open to all members of the community. The initiative aims to promote Emirati identity, traditions, and values, fostering a deep sense of belonging.

The ministry explained that the first week's challenge focuses on traditional Emirati attire, specifically the kandura and asama. Followers of the ministry's digital platforms on social media are invited to share their photos using the hashtag #Community_Challenge, contributing to the celebration and promotion of the nation's identity.

Aliya Al Joker, Director of Government Communication at the Ministry, stated that the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to involve the community in designing diverse programs and initiatives, while also preserving Emirati heritage and traditions. She emphasized that the "Community Challenge" initiative aims to pass down cultural heritage between generations, making it an integral part of the national identity.

Speaking to Emarat Al Youm, Al Joker added that the initiative will feature a series of weekly challenges announced regularly through the ministry's social media accounts (@mocduae). These challenges aim to engage and invite all segments of society to embrace and promote practices that reflect Emirati values and traditions, highlighting the bright aspects of the nation's cultural legacy in daily life.

She continued: "In honor of the authenticity of the Emirati national attire, a symbol of pride in our identity, the first community challenge for this week is an open invitation to individuals of all ages. We encourage them to participate by sharing their best photos and videos via the hashtag #Community_Challenge. These should feature them wearing traditional Emirati clothing, such as the kandura, asama, ghutra, and agal, among others. Through this challenge, we aim to spotlight a fundamental component of our heritage, inherited from our forefathers, and celebrate a beautiful and bright aspect of our national identity."
