The Emirates Inventors Association has registered 115 inventions, marking a significant achievement that highlights its ongoing commitment to supporting national creativity and innovation. The association comprises 721 members who form the backbone of its pioneering movement, contributing to enhancing the UAE’s position as an innovative nation and realizing the UAE Vision 2071. Creative ideas are transformed into solutions that serve the community and elevate the level of comprehensive development.
The Emirates Inventors Association, which nurtures Emirati talents, is a public benefit organization supported by the Ministry of Community Empowerment and operates under its umbrella. It aims to strengthen the role of innovation in achieving the UAE Vision 2071 and advancing the UAE's journey as a leader in innovation.
The association’s vision is to become a global leader in adopting scientific and practical ideas that support the UAE community across all fields, while fulfilling the scientific aspirations of inventors and innovators. Its mission focuses on building a national ecosystem for inventors and innovators, motivating and encouraging them to transform their creative ideas into investments that benefit society.
The association’s goals are diverse and include:
Promoting volunteering in the field of invention
Raising awareness and supporting national capabilities
Elevating inventors technically and enhancing their skills through specialized training, conferences, exhibitions, and forums
Highlighting and supporting their inventions
Nurturing young inventors in various fields
It also aims to:
Establish a national registry and awards in the field of invention
Support programs for training and developing specialized talents
Provide consultancy to both government and non-government entities
Adopt specialized scientific programs to qualify youth to produce inventions that serve humanity
Collaborate with educational institutions and relevant authorities
Represent UAE inventors in international forums, subject to prior approval from the Ministry of Community Empowerment
The association has contributed to fostering innovation and invention in the UAE through several key initiatives, most notably the establishment of the Ali Al-Yabhouni Innovation Center, which provides a fully equipped environment with cutting-edge technology to help inventors turn their ideas into reality.
It also launched the Ali Al-Yabhouni Invention Award to encourage inventors and innovators to give their best in serving society. Additionally, the association participated in the Expo for People of Determination 2024, where 42 young Emirati inventors were selected to participate.
Among its other initiatives were organizing three rounds of the "Future of Inventors" event (2022–2024) to promote a culture of innovation and invention in the country, and launching a joint program in collaboration with the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences to support and develop innovators and inventors.
Moreover, the association developed a smart application to serve inventors, students, and people of determination, facilitating communication and providing digital services to beneficiaries. The association has also obtained observer membership in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a UN agency dedicated to the protection of intellectual property rights globally.
This support from the Ministry of Community Empowerment reflects its drive to activate the role of public benefit organizations as key partners in the UAE’s developmental journey, working to empower this sector to become a sustainable and impactful force.
